Environmentally Friendly Ethanol Production in the city of Karlshamn

In 2012, Nordisk Etanol & Biogas AB will produce approximately 130,000 cubic metres per year. Production facilities are in the city of Karlshamn, located in Blekinge county in the south of Sweden. Production volumes will gradually increase to 260,000 cubic metres per year. Currently in Sweden, 400,000 cubic metres of ethanol are used per year

Ethanol is an environmentally friendly fuel. However, our environmental philosophy goes beyond that. Nordisk Etanolproduktion will utilise the animal feed, normally produced as a by-product of ethanol production, to produce biogas.
The biogas will be used as bio fuel for vehicle use, which will make Sweden less dependent on fossil fuel. It could also be used to produce green energy.

This will make the Karlshamn plant one of the most environmentally friendly ethanol factories in the world.
